Donate Books

We are currently accepting limited donations:
+ children’s board books and picture books (ages 0-8)
+ LGBTQ+ books (fiction and non-fiction, any ages)
+ books about police abolition and black liberation
+ adult fiction (any genre) written by authors of color
+ books written in Spanish (ESPECIALLY children’s book)

Donations may be dropped off at Astoria Food Pantry (25-82 Steinway Street) on Mondays from 6-8PM or Thursdays from 7-9PM. If you have a large number of books (that meet the above criteria) for donation, please email therollinglibrary@gmail.com and we can try to accommodate a pickup.

You can also purchase books directly from our wishlists! These titles, which help us diversify our collection and provide children with brand new books to hold, are specifically-requested books that we’d love to have at our events and to put in our Little Free Libraries.

The easiest way is through our partnership with our friends at Astoria Bookshop! Purchase any book (or two), select “pick up in store,” and write “the rolling library” in the order notes. They’ll notify us and we’ll pick it up. Shop locally and avoid shipping costs!

We also have three registries at Bookshop.org, where books will be shipped directly to us, and we’ll receive a small commission:

Picture books & board books for kids (these go quickest at events!)

LGBTQ+ books for queer pop-ups and our our Annual Pride Book Fair

General wishlist of books we love, especially for our Abolition Book Fair
